About Us

The Middle Monongahela Industrial Development Association, Inc.(MIDA) was formed in 1966 to develop temporary and future plans for the 223 acre site suddenly idled when US Steel shocked the entire Mon Valley with the devastating news that it was permanently closing the historic American Steel & Wire plant, This plant contained the country's largest zinc works and had over 7500 employees from communities throughout the Mon Valley area.

Since its inception, MIDA has created a successful industrial park located in Donora, Pennsylvania, USA. Over 40 companies are located in two industrial parks and take advantage of the close proximity to major interstates, the rail system, the riverfront, low utilities, and the good quality labor force throughout the Mon Valley, region.

Mida provides assistance to companies located in the Mon Valley region in the form of site location, building expansion and low interest rate financing. The Mon Valley region is located in Southwestern Pennsylvania, USA and consists of four counties - Southern Allegheny, Western Westmoreland, Eastern Washington and the Northern section of Fayette Counties.

MIDA administers the Job Creation Assistance Program, available to qualified local businesses.
